Activists up the anti with campaign calling on the Justice Department to charge the Bay Area Rapid Transit police with civil rights violations over the killing of an unarmed African American man in 2009

LOS ANGELES – California activists have launched a national campaign calling on the Justice Department to charge Bay Area transit police with civil rights violations over the murder of an unarmed African American man in 2009.

Johannes Mehserle, a former police officer for the Bay Area Rapid Transit police (BART), fatally shot Oscar Grant as the 22-year-old African-American father lay face down and unarmed on a train platform in Oakland, Calif on New Years Day, 2009.

Mehserle claims that he shot Grant accidentally after confusing his pistol for his stun gun. Last summer, a jury with no African Americans convicted Mehserle of involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to two years in prison. Due to “good time” credits, the former police officer was released from Los Angeles County Jail on June 13, 2011, after spending less than a year behind bars. Activists believe that Mehserle should have been charged with murder for killing Grant and served significantly more time.

The campaign calls on the U.S. Justice Department to charge Mehserle and colleagues—such as Tony Pirone, who spewed racial slurs during the incident—with violating Grant’s civil rights. Hundreds of supporters from across the country have joined the campaign since it was launched two weeks ago on, the world’s fastest-growing platform for social change.

Last year, Justice Department officials announced that they would investigate the events that led to Grant’s killing, but so far have made none of their findings public.

Activists have held several protests outside of the federal Justice Department building in Los Angeles and sit-down meetings with Justice Department officials in Oakland to encourage action.

“The Justice Department has reported that they’re investigating, but that’s as far as they’re committing themselves,” said Jubilee Shine, a representative of the Los Angeles Coalition for Justice for Oscar Grant. “The legal system has given Mehserle every soft landing they technically can. It falls on us to organize and enact justice.” campaigner Nadra Kareem Nittle said that the call for the Justice Department to take action against BART police has reached a fever pitch since Mehserle’s release from jail.
“The fact that a police officer can serve less than a year in jail for taking the life of a young black man has galvanized the communities of the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond,” said Nittle. “The primary avenue for justice now is for the federal government to take action against Mehserle, his colleagues and the Bay Area Rapid Transit police department overall. We are eagerly anticipating how the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Justice Department responds to the hundreds of human rights activists who’ve demanded its officials to act against those who played a role in Oscar Grant’s death.”

Something evil is happening to our rights. I realized today that the US Constitution has been hermetically sealed for it’s own protection as a historical document.

” In 1951, The U.S. Constitution, U.S. Declaration of Independence and U.S. Bill of Rights were hermetically sealed with helium gas in glass cases housed in the U.S. National Archives in Washington, DC. In 2003, they were moved to new glass cases hermetically sealed with argon.[1]”

Our constitution went from storage in Helium based on the word, Helios,

In Plato‘s Republic (516B), Helios, the Sun, is the symbolic offspring of the idea of the Good.

In 2003 it was placed in Argon.  Argon also has a root word with some meaning.

“The name “argon” is derived from the Greek word αργον meaning “lazy” or “the inactive one”, a reference to the fact that the element undergoes almost no chemical reactions.”

Our Constitution is now a time capsule item suited for space travel.

If you were to use the view of an alchemist who believes in symbolic evolution, the elemental containment of our Constitution reveals a consequence. The original document of the US Constitution, imbued with the sweat and energy of the Founding Fathers, is suspended from nature and the life and times of Americans. The daily erosion of our inalienable rights and freedoms, formerly enviable by the rest of the world, seem to be under a horrific slumber spell.

One might imagine the Constitution to be a legal force suspended in a cryogenic chamber, rather than an active force for good.

The Constitution represents an ideal, emanating brilliant prospects for any American who will adopt its principles. Regardless of its physical state or even its symbolic state, an alchemist can reverse engineer the negative elemental effects of slumber by enacting active principles in waking life.  The conditions preceding the document were actions of wise colonial revolutionaries and those willing to die rather than be taxed without representation.

Today we have a form of representation which fails to function.  It too seems to be suffering from an annullment or a form of slumber.  We have undeclared wars which overlook constitutional rule of law and international human rights conventions.   Our Representatives continue to reauthorize the Patriot Act, which also annuls basic rights and liberties protected by the US Constitution.  The Dept. of Justice looks the other way at telecomm and wiretapping lawsuits and egregious impeachable offenses.

It looks as if America has again slipped into the colonial straits of the forefathers.  The very same ones who pitched tea into the harbors, tarring and feathering tax collectors.

Today we suffer; denied the benefits and protections of the US Constitution.

Unfortunately- it is Tax Day 2011. Citizens everywhere endure taxation with runaway misrepresentation, endorsing our country’s self-sabotage, leading the generations to a 3rd world debtor State with threat of imprisonment.

Where do we go to experience taxation without coersion?  Where do we go in America to have adequate representation when the Constitution gets voted down in order to expand government control?  Where do we go to get the hell away from a monstrous, mutating government model which only support the profit base for its growth?

Corporations whose  business model is built on government sales and distribution, will endorse the expanded role of government so their market share can grow.   Entire businesses will fight you – the citizen- to your death over their ability to be entitled to the involuntary easy money spilling out of  your paycheck.  Your tax is their gain.  They will support iron fisted efforts to crack down on taxpayers who refuse to give the government the means to buy their products.

If you cut federal contractors from the budget, forcing the US government to rely on skeleton crews for operations of its departments, the government will shrink.

It may be time for an entirely new legal document suitable for this day and age to lead America back to autonomy and economic freedom in 21st Century. One where the lines are clean this time, in a triangle of a different separation of powers.

Separation of Church and State +

Separation of Economy and State +

Separation of State from Federal Powers =

A more perfect union of the people and their freedoms.

ZillaMod – Belief is a challenging prospect for a lot of innocent people. Faith is releasing your resistance to a concept that everything will certainly work out to your favor in the end.  To some, actions done in faith may justify the end as a means.  Recently Downsize D.C. started tipping certain legislative holy-cows with action alerts containing “HERESIES” in the subject line.   It was certainly inspiring to me when I went rooting around looking for music to match the effort to reinforce why the term Heresy could apply to something as godless as government. Simply, some of these legislative powers believe themselves to be god.

I found an illustration of powerful egos operating destructively with the faith of its people. It demonstrates ideas in blind spots for some. This video displays the cruel duality of extremes between abusive cults and abusive government in terms of religious persecution. Music dubbed over has “opted out” of the extremes of faith in both institutions because of the innocent bodies littered on the path. It’s the downside. Skip it if you are devout or easily offended in terms of belief.

Here… Trent Reznor = Nine Inch Nails screams ideas from the speaker platform for those deaf to understanding the conflicts of interest in terms of faiths.  Here an egotistical government executed the population of an entire religious cult without legal precedent. Conversely, the egos must be completely out of control to ask innocent followers to join you in a cold cup of suicide.

The point of “God” in society is to represent a divine hand, protective of the innocent. “God” is murdered in mission to the point of chorusing “God is dead and no one cares,” because the followers were betrayed to the point of death. There was simply no one left to believe. God cannot exist without faith and believers.

While this has nothing to do with Downsize D.C., it might inspire you to understand there are enormous Godzilla sized destructive egos operating in American government. They entertain a form of narcissistic self-worship in developing law. Use this delusion to your advantage in squirreling away letters, actions and to gauge the effectiveness of leaders. You may let them know they are not God and that you are losing faith.

Let’s put it this way – if it’s about them, it can’t be about you. If it’s not about you then it is not a government of The People, for The People, or by The People.

In recent days following the Egyptian revolution I have witnessed a disturbing placement of US propaganda that should not be ignored.

First, lets recall the news cycle events up for interpretation.

People reading and watching the news were exhilarated by seeing Egypt’s non-violent revolution reset government process in their country.

I seem to remember that Wikileaks dropped a cable about the US using Egypt as an rendering site to torture detainees.  I would say that information was more of a tipping point for Egyptians who didn’t want that type of US involvement or for Egypt to become the helpless target of rhetorical outrage from countries in the region occupied by American military.  Right around that time, Google Executive for North Africa, Wael Ghonim, organized a protest from a Facebook page which caught fire and took off.  I think Egyptians had their fill of a dictatorship and simply took matters into their own hands.  They didn’t care if they died or came to harm.

And people did die in this revolution.

Shortly after that, Hosni Mubarak cut electronic communications:  Internet, mobile, TV and started imprisoning journalists.  Wael Ghonim was captured and released 11 days later.   During that time some of the electronic communications were restored and Google created a special call in for tweets with details of the protest. Waves of unrelenting dissent crashed onto the streets of Cairo.  Hosni Mubarak finally relinquished his seat to military oversight after 18 days of  protests and vigils.  With or without the US approval, the people saw that their demands were met.

Then there were the reports that Facebook, Twitter and Google – giants of the Internet, yet unregulated and still considered the last bastion of freedom in the United States- were key players in creating a successful, organized, peaceful revolution in an Arabic country.

To bring peace and liberty to the middle east is the most powerful thing in the world.

Yesterday, many people read the US Secretary of State, statement of “support” for digital revolutions to aid democracy abroad.

This would be the same Secretary of State who is still working feverishly on extraditing Julian Assange from abroad, through possible entrapment over alleged  rape charges, prosecuting Wikileaks for outing US misdeeds to the world.

Support for the digital revolution might look like another promotion for Facebook, where all major news networks are driving traffic to promote organizing “democratic dissent” in the United States.

It worked wonders for organizers in Egypt.  However, if a US populist uprising were organized on Facebook to reject the direction of the government, it wouldn’t work as smoothly as it did in Egypt.

Facebook appears to be a partner with the FBI, handing over user profile information to US Intelligence agencies on a silver platter. Twitter censored or supressed tweets over Wikileaks’ cablegate releases.  Google is always sitting precariously on the fence with the US national security State.  In November, 2010 DHS yanked 80 websites off the Internet.

Furthermore, while COINTELPRO 2.0 proceeds, anti-war, civil libertarian activists and innocent apolitical citizens nationwide are being raided and illegally surveilled under watches instituted by the Patriot Act and practice of “reasonable indication” policing policy.  Last week the Patriot Act was defeated in the House and proceeded to the Senate.  This Monday it returned for reauthorization and was passed through the House with a vote 275 -144.

It seems like dissent & liberty for the United States is icing quietly while the Secretary of State now postures as the goodwill ambassador of digital organizing for democratic governance.

Yesterday, former DHS Secretary, Michael Chertoff sat on a panel with privacy and information security expert, Bruce Schneier at the RSA Conference discussing the prospects of creating a cybersecurity agency akin to a “TSA for the Internet“.

Today, if I were to hedge a guess, President Obama, Steve Jobs, Cybersecurity czar, Howard Schmidt, and Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, are going into a room to discuss the handling of American dissent. [UPDATE HERE. 12/18]

It’s important to have a moment of sobriety, acknowledging all of this is happening before our eyes in real time.  Dissenters in an arab nations are safer from US censorship, repression and criminalization than we are.   It’s common knowledge, if you are a muslim or an arab in America and you have a Facebook page, you are automatically a person of interest to federal intelligence agencies and a surveillance target.

In Egypt, citizens flashed their identity on cameras as if to say, “Come find me so I can resist you in person,” to Mubarak’s government.  It really bothered me hearing Anderson Cooper interpret this as Egyptians proudly flashing their national identity cards and passports as a point of patriotic pride, conceding to militarized checkpoints as a point of order to qualify for entry at a democratic protest as news on CNN.

Now, I don’t trust CNN- the most trusted source in news – because the Secretary of State is manipulating domestic news messaging to maintain appearances of superficial liberty, while visceral legislative battles continue in Congress to scale down US domestic liberties.

It stands to be said the most successful force of reckoning towards the US government abroad has been a group of Anonymous hackers.   Let’s just pray they maintain a policy of non-violence, as American popular dissent bottlenecks behind Internet limitations, warrantless wiretapping, and social surveillance.

ZillaMod– I get as tired as the next guy when I wonder about how to handle emergent superpowers, challenges to national security and passive aggressive politics. Every now and then I get inspired.

I am really really sick of the repeated attempts at snaking us out of our personal data and really the 4th Amendment. In fact, I’ll just say it, I feel terrorized by our current government’s approach to electronic privacy.  Astonishingly drepressing news of the cruelties endured by innocents like Aafia Saddiqui shows me there may be a bottom to the depravity in US governance.

I think we’ve hit it.  I wonder what kind of mettle, gut level tolerances you have to have to make a difference these days.

I am sick of Godzilla government.  It is time to wheel out the heavy artillery.

I honestly think it’s time for Les Grossman to take on Capitol Hill.

Amazing. He could be a great majority whip on domestic defense and civil liberty.

It wasn’t long after I started this blog before I began hearing from the anti-Big Lizard constituencies.   There were complaints about the “Big Lizards in Charge” or as I call them, BLICs.

A Little Lizard in Charge "Yeah. About those TPS reports...."

You may know these concerned citizens.  They read a lot of David Icke. They listen to a lot of Art Bell.  They informed me of an infiltration of a non-Mexican population living undocumented in the United States. This would be the “reptoid” or lizard people.

The convoluted, sordid story of the reptoid people is that they are an apparently ancient global civilization.  They are an elite entitled bunch of underground lizard folk with a really bad reputation.  The anti-BLIC constituencies blame these lizard people for global warming, bad government, overspending, the economic breakdown and the occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan.  They question the human rights of any elected official with a forked tongue and nictating membrane.

Right. The reptoid made you vote for Bush in '04.

What I am known for is blogging against histrionically bad, totalitarian-leaning government. The trouble is that I can’t really take up the anti-BLIC cause.  The reason for this is that: we are the ones eating crappy fast food in the drive-thru windows, buying and then subsequently dumping loads of unbiodegradeable plastic crap on the the planet, endorsing and subsidizing oil allegiance by purchasing fossil fuel and then re-electing slimy megalomaniacs to keep it all going conveniently.

Sorry, the destruction of planet Earth simply is our own damn fault.

The idea that there are possibly 5 different alien species colluding with our government is fascinating.  The notion that a nefarious society of underground reptile people originating from Iraq are the secret reason we are building a monstrous US embassy base towards our bankruptcy, actually makes more sense than what we’ve been told. The tales of abductions, genetic cruelty, torture and successive genocide make perfect sense if an alien race is doing it.  It’s much easier to accept than if we were actually doing it to each other.

Unfortunately, we humans are still at fault.

We are the ones failing to switch over to Socially Responsible Investments in solar, wind and alternative transport. We are the ones over developing in the lungs of the greatest rainforests of the world.   We are the ones turning a blind eye to the suffering and injustices against human rights; which are actually coming closer and closer to your door due to your lack of empathy.  We are the ones cheating each other what is owed for labor.  We are the ones who hurt and kill one another.

The indictment against the less evident BLICs are that they are inhumane leaders who are “making” us do this to our planet from mind control.

Unfortunately, even if a bunch of shapeshifting baby-eating alien lizard-human hybrids were running the show; it wouldn’t change a damn thing. Brad Manning is still in prison without a trial.  GITMO and Bagram are still fostering atrocities on our dime.  The federal government is still power-tripping over the new found ways to remote control you with technology.  Wiki-leaks is still busting their chops as a result. Families are losing their homes.  People are hungry and unemployed.

Meanwhile, you do one of 2 things: a) something or b) nothing.

Godzilla government evolved from lazy, inconsiderate, self-centered humans who refuse to engage public policy and pushing the job of governance onto “someone else”.

Godzilla came out of the ocean and I think no one noticed for a couple of years because someone had to buy a new grill for their backyard, refinance their mortgage or chase down their mother’s podiatrist.

So I am going to pass the buck right back to the anti-BLIC constituency, and the rest of humanity, including myself.   If you don’t like your Godzilla government wrecking around your community and your life; do something about it other than point the finger at the “evil reptoid people”.   [It just doesn’t fix the problem.]
